BEN MIETHKE
Ben Miethke's work is characterised in his striving for purity and search for the gist of humanness. He sometimes addresses grand, universal questions, sometimes small sentiments - always looking for a subtle human feel. Growing up in the mist of defunct steel district Krefeld-Stahldorf he featured the motifs of a rivalry between the two districts football teams in his directorial debut Roll The Old Chariot. Both shared a stuck isolation that he projected onto two rugby teams who fight each other on a remote Irish island - and find a small victory in defeat. He graduated film school at renowed Filmakdemie Baden-Wurttemberg in Ludwigsburg with two approached on deconstructed storytelling : the triptych Isolated Protagonists and his episodic piece Dasein Und Sein. Ben is based in Berlin, Germany.
